Why join a Ring?  A Ring is an opportunity to share your site with others on the world wide web that have interest in a similar topic.  You have heard the phrase "there is strength in numbers."  This is absolutely true in the case of the Internet.  Adding your site to a Ring provides a link from every other site on that Ring to your home page.  As you know, some sites rank better among the search engines than others.  If the Ring has a member site that ranks high in a specific search engine, then the traffic generated by that site will bring interested folks into the Ring, and potentially to your site.  Once your site is added to a Ring, visitors can travel to all or any of the sites in that Ring through navigation links found most often at the bottom of Member pages. They can move through a Ring in either direction, go to the next or previous site, or list the next five sites in the Ring. They can jump to a random site in the Ring, or survey all the sites that make up the Ring.

Today, Web Rings are generating a tremendous amount of traffic.  The Hickey Family Ring is supported through the BraveNet engine.  Leading Ring engines have reported remarkable increase in traffic to Ring sites.  So, the question is not "Why join a Ring?", but rather.....why not!
